Things I miss about Toronto #1
Hong Kong is a noisy fucking place. You really don't even realize how noisy until you get somewhere quiet (as I have mentioned previously, one of the outlying islands in HK, Cheung Chau, is quiet because of the lack of cars) and its eery. I was thinking of this today, and how especially in winter, at night, when the ground and cars and everything is covered by a thick, fluffy covering of snow, it is so perfectly silent. Even a big city like Toronto seems to just sigh, and lay still for half an hour. It's really a perfect moment.
Then you have to shovel the sidewalk and that moment is gone.
